My friend got a PC with Microsoft Media Edition installed on it.I've tried couple of time to install Microsoft Office 2003,it reads the disc, but if its halfway installed it gives an error message with a error number and say that the installation process can not proceed due to an error, and it need to be cancelled..
What do I have to do to get this problem solved?
And if I click on cancel it roll back the installation, and I take the disc out..
I got a license key for it!! ;)

It seems to refer to missing .Net files. Make sure you have installed the Microsoft .Net Framework.

Make sure to go to Microsoft update, if you need any updates for .net, they will be offered in the updates
Another thing I would suggest before reinstalling
-Uninstall first
After unisntalled, download and run
Windows Installer Cleanup
This should help
Download windows installer cleanup, open app and go down list till you see Any MS Office Related Software and hightlight then click remove, this will remove any installer info left behind by programs removed from system.
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe
So,
-Unisntall
-use tool above
-update or you can download the .net separately and install from your hard drive
Then try to give install another try

Good advice so far. Also, is this an Upgrade version of 2003? It may be that it needs to find a previously installed version to upgrade.
Also, I assume you have installed this on another machine, did you uninstall it first? Installing it in multiple places violates the EULA.
