I have ready many of your answer to problems with washers and drains. First I want to ask if it is unreasonable to have a washer push water to about 2 feet above the top of the washer, about 60 inches from the ground??
Second reading your answers I'm know I should use a check valve as close to the washer as possible. I have just looked at home depot, Lowe's, and graingers web sites. What kind of check valve is best to use to prevent the back flow of water back in the washer tub, yet something that is heavy duty and will not fail in 6 months to a year as well as handle the volume of water the pumps puts out without causing a restriction??
If you could send me a site or at least a proper name for this style check valve maybe I can Google it.
Thank you very much.
Bill

Sheech! I take off for a night and a day to be with my companion before she flies off on a photo shoot and already I'm missed. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Your washer pump should pump up 5 feet with no problems.
As for a check valve on the discharge hose, (see image) click on; http://catalog.plumbshop.com/?NodeId=J250
Good luck Tom

Tom thank you for your help! Sorry to bother you while you where sending a night with a friend. I'm taking a flight to a (friends) house in two weeks over thanksgiving, that's were I'm going to be working on this washer drain. If I manage to get it working for her I know I'll be well rewarded... LOL;... Thanks again!
