View Full Version : Why is the Gluta-C Cream I ordered from 2 different source so different?

The one from skynce is almost pure white and goes on so smooth.
The one from funkymommy is a shade darker, like a cream-white still basically white color and goes on with a slight rough feel, like bits of sand is in it but I can only seem them in really bright light.
But why the difference? I know lots can vary by the way when I ordered it says 4.23 oz but actually the jars I have ares only 2 oz. I'm sending them both back for refunds! I'm usually right when I have this kind of feeling something is not right.

Listen to your instincts!
If you have that overwhelming 'feeling' something is wrong your probably right. Send them back for a refund and purchase another cream you feel safe to use.

I have to agree with nikkicute and say if it does not feel right to you, then see if you can get a refund and try something else. I know the Gluta C from Funnky Mommy did nothing for me.

Yes, I have to agree. Better to be safe than sorry.

I ordered the gluta c cream from funkymommy and it was also not quite white, a little yellowy. But I used it and it lightened me about one shade, it made my skin more even too. But it stops working after a month and you have to stop using it for a week or two for it to start working again which too tormenting for me

Mysterious5 what is your regimen now?
I had lightened 3 1/2 shades from using makari, first month I was about 2 shades lighter. I'm now using hq/ra and it had lightened me about 2 shades w/in the first 2 weeks and I slwoed down to 1x a night or everyother night so I wouldn't get too light too fast. Right now I'm about 2 1/2 shades.

Ugh, golden girl. Right now I'm just using 0.25 retin a. I tried the 55h and it just isn't right for my skin I guess because it seemed to make my skin patchy and dry and darker, really weird because its so oily. I was using "maximum strength alpha arbutin" for about a month and didn't see any difference, which is a shame because that crap cost 56 bucks. Ugh, frustated, don't know what to do anymore... where did you get your hq?

allday chemist, I believe.

Yeah alldaychemist if you want to stock up and SuperSkinStore at sell.com if you want to purchase a tube at a time, ships fast. Alldaychemist is worth the wait if you buy in bulk. Ahhh I'm in love with Retin A:D lol

I am using the cream on my upper lip because I have pregnancy brown spots and I have used it for 3 nights now but my skin is so red. I don't feel any discomfort, some tingling but not bad, however I am worried now I will have these red marks forever. I have some mild peeling as well but they don't bother me. I am afraid and thinking about stopping using the cream. Any advice?

The cream I am talking about is Gluta C. Sorry

Mono sometimes is described as having a grainy texture in its cream. Did you see the photo of the woman's hand discolored by FM' Gluta-C?
She probably has to wear a glove now to hide the disfiguration. Didn't MJ also wear a glove while he was becoming depigmented?
I wouldn't be surprise if she is purchasing the Gluta-C from the African company, and spiking it with some ingredient prior to resale in order to get her product noticed.
Most African product are not good anyway, look at the long banned list and they are all made my the same african parent company using fake ingredient lists and undeclared harmful chemicals, and some of their packaging create the façade of premium brands like Rosance and perhaps Gluta-C. I can't believe they charge $40 for this african brand. You can get 2 ounce of Gluta-C for $40 or you can get 16 oz of Rosance for around $10. They might be made in the same African factory, all we know.

Where did you get the maximum strength alpha arbutin, what brand is it? $56 is a lot to pay for no results, sorry it didn't work out. You can always try mixing your own alpha arbutin and other actives in with your lotion. I get my hq 4% and retin-a from AllDayChemist. Their shipping and handling is high, but its flat rate. Hq 4% is $1.65 and the tretinoin 0.05% is $2.52, so I get in bulk.

Liolo, I'm unsure of the full ingredient list of what's causing the skin to be so red, as all of the ingredients for this seems to not all be listed nor are they in correct order so it's difficult to know how much of what per ingredient. So it could be a number of things. Golden_Boy has a point, best to be cautious and continue to observe how your lips react.

What are you going to use now sweetcaroline?
Did you get a refund for your jars of cream you returned?
