I need some unbiased help. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with me. Through out my life, I have let people in. I've opened up, I've let them see my soul. For some reason this always backfires on me... I had a girlfriend for 2 years, one day she decided she was bored with me, after all we've been through and cheated on me with multiple guys. I stayed single for a year and tried again...

My recent girlfriend of 3 years did the same thing... Every time I think I'm going to be happy. It gets taken away from me.

Why do I let women in? Why do they say they love me, and I'm the best thing to happen to them... and then why do do they leave?

It's not always your fault. You can't always blame yourself. You need to focus on building your self-esteem. You do your thing. If you find someone who is attracted to who you are and vice versa, then you're a good match. But you can't expect the happily ever after every time you start a relationship. It takes time to build a strong relationship and move forward.

2-3 year relationships aren't very long. It's a good amount of time to get to know each other to see if you're a good match for one another. Once you've gotten to know each other better, feelings can change. It happens. It's better than them stringing you along.

Just keep meeting new people.

Relationships are about opening up and connecting with your partner. Showing people your soul is not necessarily a bad thing.

The way we learn about people and ourselves is through relationships - sometimes we need to have a few of them to understand what makes us work and what we need to improve or change about ourselves.

The key to happiness is within you - don't give that responsibility to another person. Other people are not responsible for your happiness - if you give them that responsibility, then some of them will disrespect and hurt you.

You've chosen people in your life that have abused your trust and hurt you. Perhaps there is something within you that believes you don't deserve to be happy.

Get to know and like yourself and make your own happiness. Only then will you attract someone to be happy with.

I do hope that you return to this thread to address the responses that you've already gotten and to further discuss things.

Thanks!

You seem to pick the wrong people to let in, but I admire that your not afraid to take those risks.

Maybe its would be better to take more time to know your choices in females better, and being more discerning in giving your heart so freely.

Your relationships didn't end well, but that happens to the best of us. You just have to keep it going forward and using past experience to make better choices.
