Yeah apparently this 11 year old girl was being bullied when this oh so charming 19 year old boy came to "rescue" her. That's how they met. A week after he "saved" her he raped her [okay sorry "satutory" rape] and she got pregnant.
Apparently now the guy and her were getting married and she gave birth on her wedding day.
This is farking nasty.
If you want to read the full story see here:
This 11-year-old schoolgirl had a baby ... on her wedding day | News Of The World (http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/575565/This-11-year-old-schoolgirl-had-a-baby-on-her-wedding-day.html)
ICK
Here are some funny quotes from this brilliant 11 year old.
[I]"I haven't had sex education classes and I didn't know how to get pregnant. I'd never had a boyfriend and I'd never heard of condoms. "
"I didn't know I was pregnant until my grandmother saw I had put on weight. I just thought I'd eaten too many burgers."
"She is so beautiful, I love her. Violeta is the child and I must grow up. I am not going back to school - I am a mother now."
Congratulations dum dum you've graduated from toy dolls to your own real life baby!
Oh wait here is what the mom of the 19 year old rapist had to say.. I mean pedofile.. I mean nasty guy that belongs in jail.
"I don't think it matters that they are young. They are in love with each other and the baby. Surely that is enough."
ARE YOU SERIOUS? Surely that is enough. This family needs to be sterlized! We must stop the stupid from going around.

How can this even be anywhere near acceptable? I think I still had a few dolls when I was 11. And now this girl says she has "a new toy" a toy?
Maybe the girl isn't so much to blame. I see her as more of a victim. A foolish one, but still a victim. How does a 19 year old who can travel around for work not know how to use birth control? I say he totally, completely took advantage of this little girl. If I were her mother, I think I just might have killed him. Or at least come up with some intense torture to make sure he was never capable of reproducing again...

I don't want to make waves, but I must point out that in other parts of the world this is acceptable. There was an eight year old girl that married a forty year old man in India, and it was acceptable. Things like this used to be the basis of society we have just evolved to where we know that in our mind is not right, but unfortunately other countries and girl's bodies have not. Furthermore, I must add that he is a 19 year old which in my mind makes him a boy and he probably has the same mentality that she does. So, I view him as just a kid. After all he is a male and it takes males awhile to actually grow up (just a little humor in there).
Seriously, I blame it on bad parenting. How are you supposed to know what is right and wrong if you are not taught, and obviously from her mother's comments I can see how this happened. When they get older they will understand their mistake.

It's from "News of the World" a tabloid whose stories may or may not be true, that doesn't stop them. Also in that edition:
"Woman who has 300 orgasms a day meets Mr Right"

You beat me to it. My first reaction when reading the OP was WHERE did this happen.
The US is rather prudish with its attitude towards sex between a minor and an adult. Not that I think we are wrong. I would rather be prudish then have children having children. But we do need to understand that the world doesn't see certain things the way we do.
In the culture where this occurred, its not unusual for young teens to marry early and have children.

Oh I knew this was in Bulgaria. No matter where in the world you are that's still wrong, her body wasn't ready for sex not even pregnancy!
Just because it's normal for them to have 13 year old girls popping out babies doesn't make it right.

:( Hi.
I just saw something else.
What kind of world do we live in ?
A 5-year-old North Carolina girl was raped and killed the same day she was taken from her home, according to an arrest warrant released today. Shaniya Davis was sexually assaulted and asphyxiated Nov. 10, the day her mother reported her missing from the trailer park where she was staying, according to the warrant. After a nearly weeklong search, the girl's body was found dumped off a rural road.
Mario McNeill is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape of a child in the warrant. He was initially charged only with kidnapping. He appeared in court Friday for a brief hearing on the latest charges but did not enter a plea. The girl's mother, Antoinette Davis, is charged with filing a false police report, trafficking her daughter, and child abuse involving prostitution. Shaniya's father, Bradley Lockhart, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show today, and Winfrey asked him if he had anything to say to Davis. "Right now I just think it's best that we let the justice system take its course," Lockhart said.

How could a mother traffic her daughter? HOW!!

Sounds like a big urban legend to me. The girl in the pictures looks a lot older than 11. And I couldn't help but notice that the "ramshackle one- bedroom bungalow with no bathroom tucked away in a labyrinth of filthy alleys in the ghetto" where they allegedly live is outfitted with a TV satellite! Talk about irony!

They should bottle up whatever chemical that is causing her situation and market it as a female viagra. ;)

You guys all missed the part where it speaks of them being gypsies. Geesh. They have their own moral codes and practices and have been around for a thousand or more years. Yes, she was a bit young but the gypsies have accepted this. You did forget or miss the part where it said that the officials are investigating and this "young guy" may end up in jail for having sex to someone under the age of 14.

I get that they accept it. I just don't get how! How does a parent help plan a wedding for their child to someone who is being investigated for a sex crime? I just can't wrap my mind around it.
I hope whoever mentioned that this may just be a tabloid story that's not true is right.

Yes, Twinkie, I did. I was too distracted by the world's fattest cat pictures. This was "Weekly World News," after all.

Regardless if it is more "acceptable" in their culture than you would think they would advance the education so the girl WOULD KNOW what a frikin condome is and what pregnancy feels like and what she's getting herself into

As much as I can see this being culturally acceptable, my gut reaction is still "!!"
This girl should not be seeing her new child as a toy. And in response to Purdue2010 - do you actually feel like a 19 year old boy does not know the ramifications of his actions when he has sex with an 11 year old girl?

Folks, I hate to tell you this, but this is happening here in the USA too. OK, not the marriage, but the underage sex, the babies having babies, little kids quitting school to become mommies. This isn't a Bulgarian thing, it isn't a third-world thing. It is the reality of urban life in the USA.

Please re read my comment, and don't put your own spin on it.
"I must add that he is a 19 year old which in my mind makes him a boy and he probably has the same mentality that she does. So, I view him as just a kid. After all he is a male and it takes males awhile to actually grow up (just a little humor in there). "
Never once did I say that he does not know the ramifications of his actions. I simply said that he probably has the same mentality as she does, the eleven year old girl. But since you want to put words in my mouth I will address what you said. Think back to when you were 19, 20, or even 21. You did stupid things, and I bet a lot of those stupid things you thought at the time were not that serious, but when you look back now you see the what if scenario. What if I didn't do this? What if the thing that I did ended up with horrible consequences? Unfortunately, 19 year olds do not have the same mentality as older people, even when they scream at the top of their lungs that they are mature for their age.
Furthermore, I am in school right now studying international cultures. People must understand that people do things differently in different parts of the country. It is accepted in their region. That is the model for their lives.
Stuff like that does not bother me because their parents and society allow it, and let's wait and see what their justice system decides because they will probably allow it as well.
What I am more concerned about is a monster like that 29 year old man who is not 19, lives here so he has a different model to follow, that raped, tortured, and killed that innocent little five year old who is not eleven. Let's get angry about the stuff that is going on in our own society and stop worrying about stuff that people don't worry about in their own.

As a brit I have to inform you, The News of the World newspaper is not seen as a riviting read, with the only factual article being what the sports results were the day before
Can anyone tell me how much these people got paid in bulgaria for their story to be printed, mmm, I wonder if £50 $100 would be a lot of money to them?
People from america, never believe a word you read in our newspapers, most brits don't
