Ex-wife forged my signature on tax document, changed address to her and has tax refund check. Is there anything I can do with regards to the law of her forging my signature?

Hello Keith:

Sure, call the cops and file a small claims lawsuit to recover your money.

Excon gave you two course of action, but its may be more of an or than an and. If you file criminal charges of forgery, then she may wind up in jail and you will have a harder problem recouping the money.

So what I would do first, is to tell her that if she doesn't return the money immediately, you will either press criminal charges and/or file suit against her. If she doesn't return the money then you decide what action to take.

If you decide to file criminal charges, you better make sure you can prove them. Maybe she was entitled to this money as a result of the divorce. The prosecutor may not want to get involved then.
