View Full Version : 1953 $2 bill, what's it worth?

I have a 1953 $2 bill that says united states note at the top, it does not say In God We Trust anywhere on the bill, it has a star in front of the serial number and the serial number is in red and so is the seal! I'm wondering if it is worth anything?

WE TRUST} Was first put on the $1.00 silver certificate, it was approved in 1956 and was put on for the first time in 1957;; #3- the { STAR} that is at the start of the serial number ,means that the original note was damaged durning the printing of the notes and was logged in a record book ,then burned in the furnace and another note was printed in its placeAND then a star is put at the start or at the end of the serial number to indicate this is a replacement note.;; { NOW THE VALUES FOR THIS NOTE IN THE 2009 red book for usa currency;; {#1509- 1953- VF-20 $6.50 } -UNC-63- $ 12.00 } { #1509- ( * ) 1953- Vf-20- $10.00}
