My shower drain rough in is 1-2 inches from the rough wall in the basement floor
It is a 2 in pipe with trap built in .
Do I need to raise the shower or tub floor to connect drain to this hole any diagrams would be greatly helpful.

Why would you want to raise the shower floor? What are you trying to do??

The best that I can understand what you are saying is that you are adding a shower and the drain is not close to the center of the shower. If that is the case raising the floor and extending the drain over to the shower would be a possibility but it would have to be raised several inches. Instead, if what I am presuming is correct, why don't you break a trench in the concrete floor and extend the drain to the center of the shower below the concrete. That way you shower would be on a solid base. Let me know if I am right in what you are trying to do.

I measured the pipe it seems 12 inches below the concrete before it make a turn.
There is standing water there. How deep and wide would I have to make a trench.
Really not keen on digging floor but if it's the best way then I will do it.
