My name is Jenn and I have 2 girls by my ex husband. In the past 2 years he has seen his girls 4 times... he hasn't seen them since Dec 25, 2008, and that is by his choice. He's told me he does not want his girls, he wants nothing to do with them!! Can I file abandonment charges next month since then it will be 365 days since the last time he has spoke/seen them? When it comes to child support he is behind over $3,000.00 When the state of Ohio (which is where we live) sends him a letter in the email that they are going to suspend his license due to non payment of child support, he will then pay them between $80.00-$100.00 just to get him off his back. That happens about every 6 months... He's shaved my girls hair while they were with him in 2007, traumatized them deeply, the last time he saw them which was xmas day last year, he called them "ungreatfull brats" when he brought them home to me because him an his girlfriend have a baby and she got tons of xmas presents from "Santa" and mine and his 2 girls got a hamster to share. Our girls were 4yrs old and 2yrs old at that time. Our now 5yr old has been in therapy for 2 years, she doesn't understand why her "daddy" don't want/love her. She has been diagnosed with severe depression and post traumatic stress disorder. Our now 3yr old does not remember much about her father and I would like to keep it that way!
How can I take away his rights? In the state of Ohio can I file for abandonment charges?

There is a sticky note at the top of this forum that deal with this issue.

I don't think you can get his rights terminated, but I do think you can terminate visitation (especially with the shaved head stuff. And I think that's what you really want. You also need to push more on support.
