My Poulan Pro 42" 17hp automatic riding mower has thrown the belt that is located directly beneath the floorpan. What is the best way to get to it and replace it?

Without some numbers it is a bit hard to say what you have, but check the Sig to see if it is there. If not give a model.

Thanks for the manual. I see that it evidently requires me to remove the mowing deck in order to take off the belt. Seems like they could have made things easier. I do appreciate your help.

Sorry for the conceived inconveniene, but most od us who actually do this can have a deck out in under 5 minutes and for some brands in under 30 seconds. Not say detract from you, but I have done many a thing in far less.
