I want to extend the tile from a addition into a existing dining room to make it all match. The new room is already tiled and is 1/2 inch lower than the room we plan to tile to match. Both rooms are concrete slabs. What's the best way to connect these two floors with the least noticabiltiy?
Thanks,
Celeste

Put down (glue) 1/2" Durarock, Wonder board or Hardy backer, then tile.

That wouldn't help as that would just raise the floor to an inch taller, but thank you for posting.

You can get a wood threshold that is tapered to solve this situation. The tile guy should be able to supply it. There may even be a tile threshold for this .
