I was wondering if there is a way to automatically avoid immigration detention when
You automatically qualify for Child Citizenship Act of 2001? The reason I will be detained its because I'm a legal resident since 89 because my father is citizen, my mother is mexican, and I was born in mexico, I've been living in TX since around 94, and went to school here ever since, I made a big mistake that ruined my life in 2004 I was busted in the border with marijuana and it was over 50lbs, which comes automatically to a 2nd degree possession in TX, I got deferred adjudication 3yrs, I know big mistake but anyway that was stupid, now I already spoke to an attorney and told me I qualify for CCA, but told me that I got to be locked up at immigration, which I obviosly don't want, I got a good job going on and definitely would not like be lose it, my dob is 12/18/83, its not like I'm going to run away or anything

Serious charge... get the best defense attorney. The chance is very slim... you may end up being deported and your parents can petition you immigrant visa.
