Hey guys, I'm just looking for general tips on care before getting pregnant? I'm not sure at all about this - is anything really necessary, like follic acid etc?

Thanks:)

Take the Materna Pill for pregnancy for at least 3 months before trying to conceive (but if you start now it is better then not taking any at all). Materna carries the Folic Acid to support the fetus and fetal development throughout your pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

I would suggest staying away from alcohol (or drugs if you do them) and quit smoking if you do... basically get healthy. Eat lots of vegetables (that contain Folic Acid like broccoli etc), drink plenty of water and make healthier choices eating. If your working out, try to take it a bit easier (I was told not to do sit ups at all). I added a site to give you some more information on pre-conception.

Talk to your doctor about other fertility options as well. Have fun ;) and good luck!

Hi Mistique, thank you for such a comprehensive and full reply.

I will be chatting with my doctor next week too :)

Luckily I don't do alcohol, smoking or drugs and love broccolli! :)

Thank you for the link!

I would also say it to your partner/husband about getting healthy for good quality sperm.

Them,I was not joking,I was not talking about the amount but the quality.. your baby will receive half his/her genetic makeup from you and him!.

Happy baby making, and the best of luck to you both.
