I have an Australian Shepherd named Sam and a Chihuahua named Lilly. Sam is neutered and Lilly is not. Sam and Lilly always play really really rough. They run through the house screaming and growling and barking. Sam will like chew Lilly and lick he head and back. When she sleeps, he will lick and lick her. Its really weird. Does anyone one know why they play so rough and why Sam licks her so much?

Thanks

P.S. Sam is 2 and Lilly is 1 :)

It's probably not a good idea to let them play rough, you need to calm them down a bit... one wrong step and you might not have a chihuahua any more even if it is accidental.

The licking, well, they just like each other and are gooming.
My mom has 2 female poodles who constatnly lick each others faces to the point where they end up licking each others tongues... gross to watch but they are just showing affection.
