Hi,
I would like to know how to fix a link in my bathroom sink. We just moved into the house, and I can tell that there was some mending to the actual sink basin itself. The sink leaks underneath, where it is sitting on what appears to be a plastic basin shaped holder assemby (thought this may actually ba a part of the ceramic basin, I am not sure). Running right in the middle of the holder assembly is a metal strip that is glued on that I think is holding it all up. The drip is coming from a hole where a bit of the glue has come off the metal strip. Do I just need to get seal up the hole, or do I need to get a new sink? Is this plastic basin an actual part of the sink, or is it separate, and if I just fill in the hole, will the water continue to leak in between the sink and the plastic basin (and maybe eventually run into the wall, floors, etc if it pools there and cause some major damage).

I will this evening. I was surprised when I looked under the sink to see a plastic basin, because the sink itself is porcelin or ceramic. I know the drip has nothing to do with the taps, because I first noticed the leak when I poured a bucket of water from the steam vac down the drain and heard a little dripping noise. Whe I looked really closely at the sink, I noticed some patchwork to the basin itself (that white paint-like ceramic filler stuff).

If the crack is not too big you could try PC7 appoxy, its used repair leaks in engine blocks, its cheap and when it dries its rock hard
