Greetings Experts! :) Usually, I am the one answering questions on these types of message boards, although this is my first time on this particular board. However, I need some help now in identifying a model number for an older Murray riding lawn mower, and perhaps locating an original owners manual (or copy) for it.
Background: I recently purchased a used Murray riding lawn mower/tractor. Unfortunately, the model sticker under the seat is missing. I have spent literally HOURS searching the internet, researching parts schematics and making phone calls trying to identify the model number of this mower. I have narrowed it down to one of three models; 40530X-192A, 40530X-92A or 40530X-83A. I have contacted Murray (now a division of Briggs and Stratton) and they have absolutely NO information for models built prior to 2005.
Research: I have my doubts that this is a 40530X-83A since the parts schematic for this mower does NOT list a "Warning Decal" (part number 44X4308), which is listed for the 40530X-192A and the 40530X-92A - and there IS a warning sticker on this mower. However, I'm not sure I trust this information.
There is also a part number on the dash for the decal - 44X6457. I was hoping that this was a model specific decal, but I can not locate a parts source that will tell me which models this decal fits.
Does anyone know of a part number that is model specific which could be used to zero in on which of the three models listed above my mower could be?
Of the three models, both the 40530X-192A and 40530X-92A use the same parts list document (F-97707) and Owners Manual (F-97706). The parts list document and the Owners Manual for the 40530X-83A are different part numbers (F-97815 and F-97814 respectively). So I am assuming that if I can rule out the fact that this is NOT a 40530X-83A, and since the owners manual and parts list document for the other 2 models are identical, I would therefore know what I need.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration. :D
