I have a toilet that I believe is about 100 years old, the name Jos A. Vogel is printed on it,but I cannot find any information about it anywhere. Can you help me.

Thank You,

There are Vogel toilets still in use today, they were the first toilets used outside that had water running to them. The commode flushes and after the waste is gone a valve turns off under ground and stops the water flow, as the water turns off a small opening opens on the side of the valve and the water in the line running up to the commode drains out into some gravel that was installed when the job was done. The trap of the commode is below ground, All of the water under ground is so that there will be no freezing. This would not work in very cold country where the frost line is over three or four feet deep.
