Why would a long-standing corporation need financial forecasting?

Greetings and WELCOME to the site, Twannekia!
I moved your question out of Introductions to this forum topic area so that it will be more likely to be noticed and addressed by those who are best able to answer it. Your question will get noticed much more here.
Introductions is for people to introduce themselves only, and we try to not ask questions there. We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little bit about yourself, if you would be willing to do that.
Concerning your question - Do you think that a corporation can simply rely on past performance to market themselves without utilizing tools that will enable them to know how best to proceed in a market that might be unstable?
You might want to think of it this way, if you ran a corporation, wouldn't it be best to plan your business according to trends in the market that can be foreseen in the furture by utilizing certain tools of forecasting how the market might be?
Thanks!
