View Full Version : Drilling holes in concrete slab for termite prevention

My 2-storey house sits on a concrete slab. I am considering having some preventive work done for termites. The termite control companies I have contacted have suggested that they drill holes (small dia.) in a few places in the concrete slab to inject foam/prevention chemicals. I have a few questions -
1) Will drilling into the concrete cause issues for the slab (e.g. cracking, loosening of the slab etc) ?
2)One of the companies suggested drilling holes every one feet (in the patio and garage areas). Will this compromise the slab structure and the house in general ?
3)Is there a possibility that the drilling might break an underlying water pipe ?

Any alternative suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
