I have always had bad cramps when I run but I always figured it was because I was out of shape. I was told the other day that it could be a potassium deficiency. How can I know for sure? What can I do to make sure I get enough potassium, I have looked up foods that contain potassium and unfortunately I don't like a lot of them. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in Advance

You can have a test done, and bananas are a rich source for potassium. Also, I have heard of iron deficiency causing bad cramps. Not to mention dehydration and malnutrition. If you give blood they can test your iron count, or if you ask for it on your next doctor visit.

You can also try drinking a sports drink that is full of everything you need.I am confidant there must be a drink specifically for runners.
It could be that you are out of shape.Follow a regime for beginner runners and work your way up.

Here's the thing, I don't think I am out of shape I am 5'11" 150 lbs. I mean I am not ripped but I am not overweight or completely out of shape I just can't get rid of this cramp.
