Ploy synopsis is family adopts a child. As child grows older other children in the family mysteriously die in "accidents". Adopted child contracts mumps and deliberately infects the father so that he becomes sterile. Reference in movie to Cuckoo birds laying their eggs in other bird's nests and kicking out the other baby birds.
