I have a 1974 Ford F100 Styleside, 2WD, automatic, 390 engine. It will crank but not start.
The last time it started, it died, smelled flooded, and hasn't started since. I have replaced the spark plugs and wires, the coil, the ignition module, and the fuel pump. When I try to start it, it turns over great but just won't start. It still smells flooded after I try to start it. It will start briefly with starter fluid. I'm wondering if the problem is at the carburetor--does it need an overhaul?
The truck isn't much to look at, but it ran great right up to the time it wouldn't start. I'd really like to get it running again.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
