I just got a used L110 and it runs fine but when I try to engage the mower it wants to die. As soon as I stop trying to engage the mower it runs OK again.

Is this a safety switch problem or what?

Hi,
Open the hood on the right side and look for the safety switch to be unseated from its locator bracket.
Peace,

I appreciate your comments.

I do not have the manual so tell me where this safety switch is located in regard to other items under the hood. Is it possible that the switch under the seat could be bad?

Thanks Again
Duane

Hi,
Yes it sounds as if the seat switch is in play. You may wish to check the wire on the right side of the frame for a break. Deere still has the HTML format of the manual at:

I appreciate you giving me the manual to look at. In studying that and working on the tractor The engine starts and when I lift out of the seat it wants to die which it should. So makes me wonder if the seat saftety switch is OK and something is wrong with the PTO switch or something connected to it.

There does not seem to be any problem with the pulleys down below because I can move them by hand even when I engage the PTO.

Any other ideas. I did not look for wires but if you thinnk it is still somewhere in there I could do that.

Thanks
Duane
