It SEEMS very old. Its wind up. Doesn't have any lights on it. Has glow in the dark little lines on the hands though.

I have 2 questions.

On the back there are 5 little controls. One is a butterfly nut that I already know winds up the alarm. Another butterfly nut that winds the clock its self.

A small knob, that changes the alarm time, and antoher knob that changes the clocks time.
Then there is a small lever type thing, that is almost inside the clock, with a little slit to go through to get to it. It has a + and a - and it goes back and fourth. But as far as I can tell, it doesn't change anything. Does anyone know what this is?

And also, there is not shut off for the alarm. Once its going, it goes until it runs out of wind up power. I've tried pulling the knobs and nuts to see if they click in and out to turn it off or not, that doesn't work. There are no buttons or anything around.

I've rigged it so that I can turn it off by loosening the bells on top and twisting them so they hold the little hammer still.

I dismantled it to clean it, the glass covering the face was dirty and screws were loose (on the framing and leg stands, NOT the clockworks. I left the clockworks and all that alone)

There were no words on the inside to tell me the make or model or date or anything. But I do know the brand is SPARTUS.

Thanks for your time.

The glow in the dark hands were made from Radium, a radioactive element. Radium - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radium)

Which was very common in old clocks and even wrist watches.

The + - with a little slit, usually curved actually changes how fast or slow the clock runs. Move it to - and it tics slower. Move it towards +, it tics faster. It takes a long time to get the speed right.

Usually there is a way to silence an alarm. The two most common would be a pin that's pulled out or a tiny slide switch. I've never owned a twin bell alarm clock, so I don't know if it has to wind down or not.

You can also see if you can pull the wind thing in or out or if the hammer can be turned or lowered. These are just ideas.

You can post a photo too. It seems odd that you cannot turn it off though.

Thanks for helping hon. Your right the little slot in the back is curved.

None of the knobs or butterfly nuts click in or out or up and down. And there is no little switch or anything like that. And the little hammer doesn't move except back and forth.

Here are pictures.

Is that a button between the two bells?

How about trying to pull out/push in the alarm set knob?

Maybe I can find something.

This Alarm Clocks OnLine (http://www.alarmclocksonline.com/VINT1156.htm) implementation would be typical. There is an extra pull/push pin on this clock that enables/disables the alarm.

No its not a button, it's a screw. The bells come off.
No the alarm button doesn't go in or out either.

Thanksk for trying to help hon. But it looks like I'm not going to be able to use this anyway, it seems the alarm is broken and stuck on the ON position all the time. I set it for 6, and it was 9pm last night, I wanted it to go off at 6am. And as soon as I winded it up, it went off lol.

If it's off the same amount of time, then all you have to do is move the hand(s) by taking the face off the clock.

Apparently, it looks like you have other issues. Not being able to turn off the alarm is definitely one of them.
