My tax return, complete with my unredacted SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AND SIGNATURE, was attached as an exhibit in a civil filing. My attorney told me that this is a complete violation of federal and state privacy/identity theft laws. What should I do besides a bar complaint? Sue in state or federal court? The opposing attorney has done several things like this in this case.
Thanks for your assistance.

Who provided them this tax return. And yes if it is used as evidence then it will be attached as an exhibit.
Is this a civil or criminal case ?
Why has your attorney not made a motion to have the personal data excluded ?

I don't understand why you Attorney would advise that this is against the law and then do nothing - ? If you've been damaged that Attorney is the person to file a lawsuit on your behalf.
I have seen this type of info attached to Court papers.
