This is not a homework question. I just wouldn't want to poison anyone, especially me.

Will aluminum and hydrochloric acid react, and what gas is given off?

Hydrogen? Or chlorine?

Yes, they will react with a reaction similar to the basic metal plus acid reaction.

In metal plus acid reaction, you have:

Metal + Acid \rightarrow Metal\ Salt + Hydrogen\ Gas
