Hopefully, someone might come along with easier ways to do it, though.

Depending on the PDF you may just be able to copy and paste from the PDF to Word.

Also be aware that if the PDF is protected because of copyrights, it may be illegal to convert it or copy it.

Good points, Scott! I had forgotten about the copyright thing and that's part of the reason the some documents are made to be in a PDF format.

Exactly! There are two main reasons for putting something in a PDF. First, to make it appear as created to anyone without having the program that created it. Second, to secure the content so it can't be copied, edited or used without permission.
