How do I get "sec x - tan x" equal to "cos x / 1 + sin x"

Ooh - that one was tricky. It was easier for me to work backwards. Start with

cos x / 1 + sin x

Then multiply top and bottom by (1 - sin x). You should be able to get the rest of the way using your trig identities.
