I have a 20-yr old furnace (old model# G6 RC080C). No blue flame through the burner view port, so assume that the ignitor is bad. There are no issues with gas supply. Is it simply a matter of getting an ignitor kit and replacing the old one? Or is there a possible issue with the control board?

Test to see if voltage is getting to the ignitor when there is a call for heat.

Thanks hvac1000. I will need a special device to check electrical flow, right? I assume there are two leads of some kind which need to be connected at different points to see if the voltage is getting to the ignitor?

If you are going to work on HVAC equipment a minimal set of testing tools are necessary and the Skill in the knowledge of how to use them properly.
