My boyfriend is on probation for simple possession. Recently he was caught shoplifting. He went to court today and was put in jail. How long will he have to stay in jail?

Until he has a hearing on the violation of probation. At that time they will decide what the disposition will be, whether it be continued supervision or possibly some jail time.
