[well first of all welcome to the united states and the things you really need to care of are make sure that you have an job and a place to live before u get down here u need to have transportation and also need to have a plan on what u want to do when u get down here. You may also want to be alert and on your toes be very careful because there are extremely some crazy people running around.also make sure u always have your identification card on u at all times and your visa showing that u got into the u.s. legally.dont be afraid to try new foods either especially in Louisiana.once again I'm MoMO and welcome to the u.s. enjoy your stay.

Make copy of all documents you have, passport, visa, etc. and keep them in your carry-on just in case the originals are lost or stolen.

Don't leave your luggage unattended, and don't help carrying luggage for stranger even an old lady. You may end up in jail for smuggling drugs or illegal money, etc.

There are a lot of nutcases on the streets everywhere so be alert and don't put yourself in difficult situations. Welcome to US...

A good idea is to scan your important documents and keep an electronic copy as well as emailing it to yourself for quick access wherever there is internet access and a printer.

Welcome to the US!

Please elaborate, the H-1B visa is an employer-specific petition visa, so the company must have filed for an H-1B for you to get an H-1B. You cannot have an H-1B without a petitioner.
