I had a ruud heat pump and the compressor went bad. I now have a Duroguard 10 seer DPBC-036JA. In the AC mode the contactor chatters and if I bump the unit it kicks on and works normal, however it must be bumped (bang on side of unit) every time. In the heat mode the Thermostat clicks and the nothing happens. I currently have it set in the them heat mode, the furnace fan runs the outside unit does nothing. I have changed the thermostat, the contactor and the transformer. I have had two HVAC people out to look. I am now being told that the air handler and the heat pump are not compatible. Please help!
