How much do you have to earn a year to be happy?

You know and I know money can't buy you happiness.
Look at all the rich and famous drug addicted ,divorced ,suicidal people out there.
Money can buy you freedom to choose a life that makes your feel comfortable.
Happiness is fleeting,no one is happy all the time!

Hi, PAULERNY!
Do you think that money can buy happiness for a person?
I remember a number of years ago, when I was very depressed and had considered suicide for myself, a friend, whose husband and she are millionaires, called me up to see how I was doing. She didn't know that I was thinking and feeling the way that I was.
When I told her how I had been thinking and feeling, she basically said to me, "Here I live the ideal life, and I think and feel that way sometimes, too".
Thanks!

That's a very subjective question.
Money can't buy you complete happiness, but money can help you buy things that can make you happy to a certain extent. For example, if you like to travel, you definitely need money. If you like to eat, out at restaurants, it's definitely a good idea to have some money.
So it highly depends on what kind of things you want in life. Why don't you calculate backwards. See how much money to purchase all the things you want and then calculate a salary that will fulfill that budget.

Hi again, PAULERNY!
Why are you asking the question, please? It would be helpful to know about that.
Thanks!

If I can earn enough to pay the bills that gives me peace of mind,financally..
But happiness...
A decent cup of coffee and a good book and I'm as happy as could be.

I found that when I earned large incomes I was a lot "less" happy than when I was merely working at a job I loved.
Happiness is not from money but from your outlook on life

Money can't buy happiness or love.
Happiness comes from within, but not within your wallet.

Well first you would have to decide what is happiness for you.
I mean happiness can be different for everyone so if your TRUE happiness comes from having material things and the best possible circumstances then I would say a lot of money millions of dollars a year.
But if happiness for example is peace of mind having valuable relationships , etc. it really doesn't matter how much money you have it solely based onwhat you consider happiness to be.

Just enough to pay your bills, run a decent family and save 10% per annum for your future...
But none-of the above garuntees your happiness... You are truly happy when u find yourself being of some benefit to the world...

Money, or the lack thereof, doesn't make one happy. Happiness is an internal attribute ; it has to come from within. One can be dirt poor and still be happy. And one can be filthy rich and still be miserable.
