My house was built in the 60's and it looks like there was a sInk and toilet in the basement before. There is a drain with a rubber plug in it and looks like old closet flange bolts in the concrete. There are two other drains with plugs in them. One plug is cast iron with hex on it. The other is a PVC plug. They are both screwd into the drains. One drain has water in it underground where it turns up verticle the other doesn't have water but I can see water flow by when something else in house drains. Can I use what looks like the old toilet drain and other drain for a toilet and sink respectively?

These were likely old bathroom drains and you should be able to use them right after you verify that they were not sealled with concrete or totally clogged years ago. You need to clear the lines and pour svereal buckets of water into the drains and have it drain away completely. there should be no standing water in any drain lines

I have poured water down all of them and it all drains. The one with the water in it drains also but the level stays right at the horizontal level. It seems like it is a line with a trap.?

If It's 2" then, unless it has a tub dap-out, it's a trap for a shower. Bob nailed it. You have a bathroom group rough in. Good luck, Tom
