Hi
Everyone says the same thing... remove the cap remove the sofner dispensor(if there), and then... presto there is the bolt, remove the bolt and slide agitator up and off.
My problem is the bolt just seems to spin and spin and spin, if I hold the agitator, the bolt never comes off it just spins(have to use a wrnech, can not make it spin with my hand)

I'm feeling like an idiot, what the heck am I missing? Is there a trick to the step of removing this bolt?

Its an oooold kenmore 70 series

Sound like the splines are stripped. Here's a little tip:hit the nut with a little WD40 and put a socket and rachet on the nut . Hold the rachet and start your washer in the agitation cycle. The nut will back off with each sweep of the agitator shaft. Good Luck
