Regardless of temperature or cycle settings, except for air fluff,my Maytag electric dryer, model # MDE7400AYW, runs so hot that it's uncomfortable to touch the clothes at the end of the cycle. Clothes come out extremely wrinkled. Please advise of any DIY remedies to diagnose and correct this problem.

I found a solution and it's something that every dryer owner should do. CLEAN YOUR DRYER DUCT ALL THE WAY TO THE OUTSIDE VENT. I was amazed at the amount of lint we removed from the duct. In addition to making the dryer run hot, it is also a real fire hazard.
This can be a DIY project or you can hire a pro to do it. It took my husband and me a couple of hours to complete. We pulled the dryer away from the wall to disconnect the flex line from the dryer. Then, since our duct was easily accessible, we also separated the duct sections in the basement to perform a real thorough cleaning. We used the 4" round duct brush that was included in our dryer cleaning kit to remove the built-up lint from the entire run.
I also heard that you can securely tape the duct brush to a plumbing snake and push it through the duct work without having to take the sections apart.
Hope this helps all the folks that have been posing and viewing questions similar to this without any answers being posted.
