Hey guys, its Friday and today I was planning to shopping and after that I want to go see a movie by myself? Is there anything wrong with doing these things by myself? There is this movie that I really want to see that comes out today, (saw 6) but last time I went to see a movie alone, there was some people that made fun of me and called me a loner.
It really hurts my feelings. On top of that I don't have many friends and the few friends I do have don't share the same interests as me so it is really hard to do stuff with them. I don't know, what do you guys think about this?

I don't see a problem.
Before I met my boyfriend I often ate out by myself and went to the cinema.
Even now I like to do things on my own.
I like my own company.
I don't think its odd or strange... and I can't wait to see the 'saw' movie! With or without company.

I too have gone out to eat by myself or watched a movie.
I see nothing wrong with getting a table for one - yep, I get a table rather than sit at the bar.
Like Red, I like my own company. :)
It's not funny unless they know they're getting to you. WHen I went out alone, I never even thought or worried about what anyone was thinking.

It's unfortunate that you had to be made to feel inferior the last time you attended the movies alone.
There isn't anything wrong with it and shows great self-confidence that you do go. Many people would be too insecure to dine alone or go to the movies alone.
I think it's a fabulous idea and shrug off anyone who would be so ignorant to comment.

Going out on your own is fine, don't worry about what silly people say. Really haven't they got anything better to do with their time?

I feel funny eating dinner alone, but I go to the movies alone all the time. I thought at first that I'd feel funny, but found I really liked it... just me and my bags of M&M's. Enjoy. :)

I once went to a movie by myself then went to eat at a pizza buffet by myself and then went back and seen another movie by myself all in the same day. I liked doing it. It was peaceful and I didn't have to have anyone else's approval of what I watched.

I'm married and I still go to the movies by myself sometimes. If my wife doesn't want to see a movie and I do I go. Technically you aren't alone that theater is going to be packed, that's the way I always look at it. It's not like you are holding a conversation during the movie anyway.
I use to date this one girl who would get so upset that I would eat lunch by myself at a restaurant during work. I asked if she preferred if I just eat lunch with some random girls she didn't find that funny.

Heyy I know exaclty how you feel and NO there's nothing wrong with doing things by yourself! I mean I get drunk by myself sometimes... Who wants to be a sheep that follows a crowd of people just to appear "cool"? Just be yourself and keep enjoying your own company. Cause what I've learned you are your best friend and the best company you'll probably ever had. Why? CAUSE PEOPLE SUCK! =]

I think that it takes a lot of courrage and confidence to do things by yourself.
I would say, have fun!

You'd have to help her put on fake tan.
Be asked does my bum look big in this.
Go on mindless shopping trips looking for the ultimate white shirt...
Its not easy being a girl!

My partner and I rarely agree on movies, and personally I wouldn't go see Saw 6 unless I had ear plugs and a blindfold. My partner goes to see his types of movies without me all the time.

OH man the notebook my wife is still mad at me because of that movie. I figured it out in the first 10 minutes and then proceeded to rip the movie apart. Not my most sensitive moment.

Since I've split up with my ex, half of the time I go to the movies by myself and don't even think twice about it. It's funny, I think there is a Seinfeld episode about this... as to why we feel the need to go to the movies with somebody. It's not like we can talk to them during the movie or anything. Don't feel bad about doing it, and who cares what other people think.

I also go to the movies by myself now and then. It's fun to have company, but going alone is fine too. And I agree; there are other people there. Sometimes you even end up talking to them.
I actually like eating out by myself a lot. It's very peaceful and nice.

I go to the gym alone and I am looking forward to going to the movies and volunteering at a hospital alone next week as well. I can't wait. I realize I like people a lot more than I used to. I also learned that I love myself so much.

I discovered the joy of spending time with myself more after my break-up.Theres a sense of complete fulfillment in being able to just sit somewhere, sip coffee,or munch on a burger and fries, with nobody paying attention to you.Its just me relaxing, watching the world go by or sitting and reading, without bothering to see who's watching.
Alone time's something I am hooked to now and don't think can let go,even if I am in a relationship;)
