Hey all. This is my first post, and I don't know you guys so please don't be mean I'll cry lol. Ok here's the deal
I used to live in Assissted living places because I have a hard time taking care of myself. I have disorganized Schizophrenia. That's a mix of paranoid and something else.
Well anyway. Since I have been back on my own I have been having a lot more anxiety and hallucinations. The voices ain't so bad.
Here's my question. I need to get out of my lease. I have a dr's note for it, but my landlord won't even look at it. My mom says someone with Schizophrenia cannot be held liable for a lease or any other kind of contract. He says that's not true.
Who's right?

You are still responsible for the lease. Your emotional state as nothing to do with the fact that you signed a legal document (lease). Doctor's notes don't count unless you are going into a nursing home to live. Your mother is incorrect. Sorry.
