My whirlpool cabrio dryer will not start. The 'mode indicator' stays on sensing.

housold... if your dryer won't start at all and indicator is stuck on sensing, you may need to replace the user interface control(the one with the touch pad).. and or the secoundary control board with the transformer and relays.

Mine is doing this also - is there a current recall?

Hi folx, just went through fixing this on my washer. Couple items:
1. An EXTREMELY helpful technical guide is folded inside the console housing, wasn't aware until it fell out when I was examining the interface board. WARNING: It is for appliance techs, DO NOT do the voltage/resistance checks if you are not well-versed in troubleshooting appliances! BUT, it does include putting the dryer in diagnostics mode and checking the sensors.
2. Not starting and showing "Sensor" indicator is kind of like a dummy light. It catches all kinds of issues. In my case, it was a broken drum belt. It could've been a bum sensor, bad motor, etc. It doesn't necessarily mean the boards within the top console. Use the diagnostics mode to narrow down the issue (see #1). Dryer is back in operation now after replacing the belt.

Sorry, my brain is not on all cylinders this morning... I meant I fixed this on my DRYER, not washer!

We continue to have the same problem with the Whirlpool Carbrio Steam. I have ordered thermal fuses and it blowes them on a monthly basis. The vent is clean and the airflow is good. I am thinking I may have to replace the control board. Stay away from this POS.
