I have a 6 year old son, 6 weeks ago he got sick(vomiting, fever, no sore throat) Had a rapid step done, confirmed Strep. Took amox. For 10 day, by day 12 all symptoms were back. Went back to DR. no strep test was done, was perscribed Omnicef(?) for 10 days. Day 13 all symptoms back.

He woke up today (day 13) slight sore throat, vomiting fever, how long should I let this go on before I take him back to the Dr. My daughter is sick with tonsillitis (no vomiting or fever, just cold symptoms) Could my son have the same thing but its just reacting to him differently?

I'm starting to get worried, the same thing happened once in Nov/Dec of 08, but after umniecf it went away and didn't return.

He has no white patches on his tonsills but they are swollen, I'm just nor sure what to do.
Thanks

You must take him to the doctors. Strep throat was called scaret fever or rheumatic fever years ago. Sometimes it takes months to fully recover from strep. Also, if left untreated it can cause heart problems. Severe heart problems.

I had strep 9 years ago. I had it twice as bad as my adult son at the time. He recovered within 2 weeks. It took me several trips back to the doctors for me to fully recover. Then, even after being fully recovered my health was very compromised and it took me about 9 months to fully feel like myself again. Try not to make your son do anything strenuous for at least a good month or more and have him stay in bed and rest up.
