Hi... I'm new to this site.
I have a General Electric gas furnace. It's about 30 years old and I've been it should replaced. I don't know anything about furnaces. The one I have is still heating the house OK.
I'm retired and trying to watch my bucks.

Is it possible to replace whatever parts are wearing out in my present furnace (as opposed to buying a complete new furnace? Is it a wise thing to consider?

In general, what should I consider in buying a new furnace and what kind of money should I be thinking of. I live in Michigan. Winters can be quite cold.

General comments will be appreciated and thanks.

I would call out a couple or more contractors to look your equipment and get their thoughts,, looking and seeing is much better than what we could tell you without being there,, in most cases pretty much any and all parts of an electric furnace can be replaced unless the parts are just not available,, then again in some cases you can replace the furnace as cheap as you could overhaul the old one
