 I was drying a down comforter and put a pair of sneakers in with it so that the down would dry evenly and not in clumps. A sneaker jammed the drum and now the dryer won't start again... I thought I'd wait -- maybe it was a safety thing for it to turn off from overheating? But it still won't start again. This Maytag is only a couple of years old if that. I don't smell any thing like rubber, etc... Any ideas? ;) Thanks!

I can't help you unjam anything but I can suggest (when you do get the tennis shoe out) tennis balls work well whle drying a down comforter, but I never wash mine, it goes to the cleaners to conserve the down inside. It was far too expensive for me do it on my own.

I can't imagine where it would have jammed the dryer up ? Can you see the tennis shoe ?
