I am currently enrolled in a 45 week HVAC program at Algonquin College.

I am just wondering about writing my TSSA, is there a certain percent I have to graduate with? I believe it is 75% but I am not 100% sure?

Also, I am considering getting into Commercial, do you guys recommend this? Or is Residential bettter?

I have been told that Commercial Engineeers make a lot more then Residiential but you get paid for what you do?

-Thanks,

Chris.

On the Technical Standards and Safety Authority test I believe 75% is correct but always try for a higher score if possible. It is always nice to have bragging rites with a higher score.

I would start out in residential to get your feet wet. Just because you pass a test does not mean you will know what to do out in the real world if you follow my drift.

When you feel like you have met the challenge then you can move on to commercial work.

Commercial does make more than residential per say but you have to be real good to get top dollar and that may take years of experience to attain.

Good luck with your class and test.

I know it varies per company and location but what would you say would be the average salary cap for a 10 year vet in HVAC?

I really do not know. Most of my men were at union scale and that was 10 years ago. Refer men were 26.97 HR plus subpay fund etc.
