Hi...
Should I repair / replace or change brands for a 3 year old WILKINS Pressure Regulator that creeps from 60 psi to 100 psi over a 3-4 hour period ?

Hi Borden...

My opinion.. You replace the entire valve. The repair kit costs almost as much as a brand new regulator and repair kits almost never mate up as well as the original parts.

If you are lucky, one side of this regulator is threaded and the other side has a union fitting... should be a super easy swap out. If no union fitting, you can cut the copper pipe, spin off the threaded fitting and use a SHARKBITE or GATORBITE type coupling to reconnect the copper pipe with the new regulator. Sharkbite/gatorbite fittings do not require soldering skills. They are available at home depot or Lowe's, respectively.

Let me know what you think...
