My Trane XB90 Gas furnace has a red flashing led light. Is this a problem? What does it mean?

Yes, it appears to be. I took off the cover and it appears to be quite clean. Of course, the electronic air cleaner was quite dirty, so I replaced the filter media.
The red blinking light just flashes constant, with no discernable pattern or 'number of flashes'. Is this normal?

Sounds normal to me on that unit. That is why I asked if it was working.

Your right! I was able to get the second panel off and there was a chart on the back.
Slow blinking - Normal, no call for heat.
Fast blinking - Normal, call for heat.
etc...
etc..
I feel a bit dumb at the moment, but I'm glad there is no issue.
