View Full Version : 2004 Hyundai Sonata shut down while driving

I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata. The A/C and heater went out several months ago. Today, I was slowing down to stop at a light when it jerked and shut down. Had a hard time getting the key out of the ignition. Tried to restart... acts like it wants to start, but it won't turn over. I am hoping it is not the timing belt. Not familiar with cars, so if there is anyone out there who can help me check for a problem without towing it to a garage first, I would appreciate it.

. Remove and fully charge the battery. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.

. Test all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:
