Looking for Romantic Comedy from the late 80s/early 90s for a friend. Basic plot line along the lines of a poor girl steals a tie for her father because she can't afford a present for him and gets caught only to be saved by a rich guy who looks after her, but also engaged to marry another girl from a rich background.
Friend suggests it could have a title of just the girl's name and that the girl in question had short dark hair?
