My husband & I divorced a couple of months ago, after 14 years of marriage.
When his Mother died she left Him and me the farm. It has always been in my name as well as his.
He is trying to say that I don't deserve any of the land or money from the land. Because he Inherited it. But I don't think so, Is it Inheritance if at the beginning when it was tranfered from (his)Mothers name right stright into Mine and His.
After all, I worked nights and took care of her for years and she made it known that I was to always have a home here
But its not in writing. Can he make me leave have I not only lost him, but also my home too? At 55 its hard to start over from nothing, Can you help

My husband also told me that the double wide I brought into the marriage was also his
Because we borrowed money on it and they put it in His name and mind when we financed it. This I don't understand. Can a judge in NC really take everything form me.
I'm just a bit worried. I have the deeds to the land and in bold print my name is right beside his. And I also signed it with him before it was filed in the NC court house.

Please help it you know someone who might know something about this. Maybe there's someone else who has had this problem and won, or at least got enough to start over.

Thanks so much either way

Of course your soon to be ex will tell you anything,

But your issue was putting it in his name, should have left it just in your name, sounds like he know what he was doing .

It is possibel since it was signed over to him also, he will have the right to this to be considered.

What you do is file for what you want and try to work out a deal
