I have a 13.5 rear engine snapper. This summer it started to sputter out after about 45 minutes of running. (yes, I have a large yard). Problem is that it has steadily gotten shorter on the intervals it will run. Now I am down to one spin around the lot and it dies out. If I wait a minute and turn it over, it starts right back up to do it again. The idle is fine, I have had some issues of it dying out once the deck is engaged, but I am thinking they are separate issues. Magneto getting hot? Spark plug showed ash deposits but I have ran it all summer with the same plug. Ash deposits would indicate that there is oil getting into the fuel via the valve guides.
Any answer would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rs

Hi,
An interval of 25 minutes or more is usually related to the ignition, but the cranking right back up after a minute points to fuel. A new fuel filter sounds best to start with.
Peace,
