My boyfriend was put up for adoption and has never found his biological parents. He was born March 27th 1973 in Fort Wayne Indiana. We have no idea where to start in looking for his biological parents. He was awarded to the state. We think. His adopted parents adopted him on or around April 20th 1973. On the birth certificate it states Allen County, so we believe he was born in one of the Hospitals in Fort Wayne Indiana.
If anyone has any tips on how we can begin to find his parents that would be great thanks for reading this. :)

There is a sticky at the top of the adoption page that gives basic information on a search

You can find it here: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/adoption/looking-birthparents-children-given-adoption-401680.html

"Real" parents is such a bad term, though. ALL parents are real--unless you're determining that somehow one set is imaginary? Some are just the family one grows up with, some are adoptive parents, some are foster parents, some are grandparents, some are godparents, some are step-parents, and some are biological parents.

ALL of those kinds of parents are "real".

Your boyfriend is looking for his BIOLOGICAL parents.

I am so so sorry if I offended you or anyone else for wording it as I did. I meant to harm or discrediting any parents. I went back and edited it... AGAIN SO SO SORRY

No offense was taken!

Unless you are involved intimately in the adoption community, you could not have known what a hot button that is for people.

I didn't mean to come across as angry--just as giving information to help you.

Thank you so much. I never thought about it when I typed it out. I can see how that would push buttons with some. Thank s so much
